As You Are Bar X Serenata!🍹🍸🍹

As you are bar has been an integral part of DC’s queer community for many years. Though they may not be in their original home, they’re still going strong! Join Serenata and As You Are for our new Monday collaboration series this summer combining Serenata’s tasty cocktails with the fun, vibrancy, and community vibe of As You Are. Happy Pride Month! 🌈💗

LGBTQ+ Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. In the United States the last Sunday in June was initially celebrated as "Gay Pride Day," but the actual day was flexible. In major cities across the nation the "day" soon grew to encompass a month-long series of events. Today, celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia, and concerts, and LGBTQ+  Pride Month events attract millions of participants around the world. Memorials are held during this month for those members of the community who have been lost to hate crimes or HIV/AIDS.

Welcome to the Discotheque at WØRK PRIDE FIELD DAY 2024! We’re celebrating queer joy through play once more, with exciting updates in store. Get ready to groove in custom Lululemon tops, and indulge in complimentary face painting by artist Rhythm and striking portraits by Aysha. Feel the beats all day long with a live DJ courtesy of Fish House Funk, while Desiree Dik reigns as Mistress of Ceremonies. Brunch by Hi-Lawn fuels the fun, and don’t miss the dazzling drag show starting at 1 PM also at Hi-Lawn. Let’s dance, play, and revel in the spirit of pride! 🕺🪩
